Sssshhh.. at Work!! Part 2..

To all my international smokers, please refrain from holidaying in Singapore, as it has been declared (since July 1st 2006), following the footsteps of Paris and New York, a warzone against smokers. Further banning in clubs is just over the horizon (2007)

Following the luxury of having a smoke after lunch and dinner, it was quite surprising having the duty manager of your fav cafe coming upto you saying "Please sir, behind the yellow line".. the biggest shock is, the non smoking and smoking areas have a thin line of divide (actually its just a 1 inch thick yellow line dividing) and most of the cafes are tiny.. so non-smokers are still doomed to die of 2nd hand smoke..

Most economic indicaters of how well a country is doing are Inflation, stock indices, balance of payments.. but another interesting indicator (economist please take note, if anyone publishes this, i'm sueing!!!) are taxes on cigaretes (or what the government is doing to fight it). My theory is that, as the country does better (or governments are making money) it does not requires anymore the funds earned from taxing tobacco.. so it diverts its attention to health (for example France, Singapore, UK, America etc..). but countries in the third world still need that cash (like India, Phillipines etc..), so it encourages smoking by reducing taxes so more people will smoke.. thus earning more. This same principle applies to Booze. therefore, you can get a rough idea of how well the country is doing by looking at the prices of Tobacco and Alchohal. (please note theory doesnt apply to islamic nations as Booze is heavely priced and high taxes on ciggateres may cause governments to collapse).

To all the readers still puzzled about me, I am training to be an Engineer, but economics is just one of those things that come naturally.. just a part of the Myriad of talents i have been blessed with..

For most Singaporean guys, achieving the 5 C's is their main objective in life.. the 5 C's are: Cash, Credit, Car, Condo, Club.. but for many women this may not apply.. from my power observations, i have deduced the equivalent of the 5C's for Singaporean women, called the ABCDEs

A - Ass

B - Breast

C - Caucasian Male

D - Dildo

E - Engagement to C

Sorry, i know this is very sexist of me as i excluded all things that involve hard work, ambition, talent - but there are somethings only Guys are good at - but making things equal, i guess the competition for a Caucasian Male in Singapore (that could lead to E) requires some talent to distinguish yourselves from the rest, so girls can hold their heads up high as they reach the ABCDEs.
